Born and raised in Calgary Alberta, Jeff Rodier struggles to adapt to the evolving landscape and plebiscape of his city and his life. Through material experimentation and multidisciplinarity, Jeff engages the idea of multi-nationality, globalization and modern society. The most recent work, once titled “Poples”, now “Plebis” the latin root for people, talks about interactivity in multiple ways. The objects themselves, through arrangement and form converse with one another, with the viewer, and allow the viewer to converse with themselves and others.
Aside from glass Jeff has strong ties with photography and has begun an investigation into modern abstract painting. When dealing with 2d projects Jeff focuses on compostion, line, shadow play and strong presence of design aesthetics while constantly explopring the different mediums and methods of play associated.
