James Clark is a self-taught artist in photography, metal and glass sculpture, glassblower and equipment designer. His hotshop displays his new and innovative equipment.
Clark says that his work "deals mainly with aesthetics and has some underlying content. Nature, forms and the people around me are my inspiration."
At the beginning of every day, he says that he is "electrified by what new concept, new design and new creation will take hold. Inventing and creating is what I thrive on, and perfection is a going concern. I love to think, do , and understand everything."
"I feel I am continually at the beginning - there is never an end to what personal growth can be obtained. Exploring new materials, fascinate and inspire me."
"Glass has not only encapsulated me but has become a means to deliver my feelings and intentions. We are in a world filled with opportunity and challenge, energy and creation, I want to make each moment count, to really be alive. Revealing 'this', making work that satisfies me, reflecting the observer or purchaser - all of this is real and rewarding."
Born in Billings, Montana, U.S.A, in 1963, Clark shortly after relocated north to Saskatchewan, where he now resides on an acreage in Cupar, in the south of the province, where he runs a hotshop with his wife, Jacqueline Berting.
