Biography
Born in 1965, the youngest of six children, Connie Geerts was raised on a farm in South-western Ontario, Canada, and started very early on a creative path. Her professional career as an artist began in 1985 with a move to Victoria, BC. Connie’s work has been shown in galleries since 1993. She is a past member of the Vancouver Island Sculptors Guild, an established painter in acrylic, and has worked in TV and film as a video editor and prop builder. Connie studied bronze casting in Mexico, welding at the Alberta College of Art and Design and glass casting with such notables as Mark Abildgaard and Stephen Paul Day. A member of the Glass Art Association of Canada, and the Calgary Warm Glass Guild, Connie now works at her art full time out of two studios in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
